Mark 12:28-34 New Living Translation
28 One of the teachers of religious law was standing there listening to the debate. He realized that Jesus had answered well, so he asked, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
29 Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. 30 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’

You know, it is Sunday morning and for the first time in a long time, I thought that I would go to a local church. I have had a professional stainless steel whipped cream dispenser for a few months that I have been meaning to drop off at this little church. I know one of the pastors is really into his coffee bar, and I had picked this whipped cream dispenser up at an Amazon outlet store for like seven dollars. The thing is priced at eighty-eight dollars right now on Walmart.com.
Isn’t that beautiful, I bet he’ll like it.
Anyway, I showered, got dressed, packed my backpack with necessities, and was almost out the door. Well, then I got a text concerning my ten-o- clock delivery from Aldi’s. I forgot all about it, so that sort of nixed my plan.
Well, I had just gleaned a few online churches, and I had this Vineyard church on in the middle of their worship.
So, I was like, “I guess, I am going to go to church in Columbus OH, this morning.”
Anyway, I started to watch it, and I really liked the sermon. I thought, ‘Yea, those are the kinds of sermons that I like.”
Well, right at that moment, I had a thought, “Hey, why don’t you post a link on your website.”
Well, I got a little embarrassed and probably turned a few shades of red?
I said to myself, “You can’t post some “Rinky Dink Mickey Mouse Church,” like that online, you’ll lose the respect of half of American Christendom.
Where is the Mega-Pastor living in a few million-dollar home?
Where are the fancy stone carvings and the modern architecture the fancy fountains, the inground sprinkler system,
You know, I just started imagining all of the comforts and the necessary add Ons, that most of our newer type churches have adopted in order to be considered a “church worthy of the modern sheepfold.”
And then I thought, “Can I really even post some online clip where they aren’t taking an offering of less than thirty, forty, a hundred million dollars toward a new building?
So, then all of these other questions kept ringing in my head nonstop, so I was even starting to get a headache.
“Do they even have a Coffee Bar?”
“Has this church placed its members under the bondage of the Legalistic Hebrew Tithe?”
“What happens if I promote the church, and then come to find out that the pastorate only drives Chevrolets?”
“Do they even still make Chevrolets?”
Well, soon I was just overwhelmed with issues, so finally I just yelled out, “I can’t think about these things anymore, I’m going to publish the link despite the shame that it will bring me.

I woke up today and I felt as if the Holy Spirit was asking me to post a link to the church where I am blessing one of the Pastors with a small gift.

You see, I have been in this area for over five years, and I have yet to go to one of the services at this church where there aren’t at least twenty to forty men in the pews. These are all men who had come off the streets of Houston who had major addictions and street backgrounds where they found it hard to cope in our society. The church has run a women’s shelter, as well.
Nonetheless. I believe they began their shelters, by selling “Banana Bread,” as part of their ministry. This has been just one of the ways in which this ministry has struggled for the gospel’s sake and to have rescued men and women from a life of complete despair.
Nevertheless, you see it is very difficult for such ministries to survive. For some reason individuals like to give to ministries who have twenty or thirty million dollar building projects, and who like to graduate young suburbanite devotees, from those areas where they have done market research and have found those areas to be rich in naïve prospects.
Next, they all might teach them to go out into all the world and to preach a “Tithing,” message backed by some of the finest talented musicians and singers who have devoted their entire lives to appeasing their Pastors, and soon hope to become “ordained,” through such religious systems.
Therefore, it is nothing for one of these mega churches to receive a contribution of a few hundred thousand dollars or perhaps a million or so. In this way many times they will add a well-stocked pond, of Koi, to the original “Blueprints,” established from their humble beginnings when they cam up with the idea, “Hey, why don’t we build a new church costing millions of dollars and urge the congregation to pay for it, mortgage free, in two years?”
“Duhhhh, sounds good to me, that’s what my daddy did and his daddy before him and…
No, this is just a small church in a simple neighborhood in the middle of Houston, yet these people have struggled for years baking banana bread, selling it and distributing it around Houston, all for the sake of being able to take in one more drug addict or prostitute who wishes to leave their old life behind.
Could I share a secret with you all that the Holy Spirit taught me through years of following him and in deep pursuit of his wisdom?
He showed me all of these Mega churches around the country, I mean, I remember one huge church in Southlake TX, when I was in the Dallas area there for maybe fifteen years of my life. Well, they must have built five churches, one right after another.
The first one was built after the Pastors began preaching their strict “legalistic tithing, messages. A couple years later, they needed a larger church, so once again, they laid the responsibility on the congregation and the teaching in which they conditioned the church that “Today was the day of Tithing.”
Then they had to build a fourth, with the same strategy. Finally, a fifth exact same strategy place the ONUS on the congregation.
So, now remember, I used to worship in these churches and would help pray down the Holy Spirit, but the church has never understood the concept that just because the Holy Spirit comes down and manifest his glory, it does not necessarily mean that God approves of your leaders’ selfish administrations.
So, here it was a few days after the “Grand Opening,” of the fifth rebuilt “Temple,” and I began “worship,” as I always do in order to help set an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit could come down.
Well, about five minutes into worship and I just stopped. I believe that it was the Lord getting my attention, but I began looking at the pulpit area and the stage which it surely resembled.
Well, there in the back of the church, there was like some Greek symbolism, and then I noticed this huge curtain which would allow them to draw back and forth, as if this were a theater on Broadway or something?
Next, I looked at the front of the stage where there was no altar anymore. I looked at the pulpit on wheels or portable whatever the design, but these “words,” came to me, “They have replaced my ALTAR with an entertainment theater.
So, as I was meditating on it right in worship, I thought that this was something that they might do in Pagan Rome.
In other words, the churches are turning God’s sacred church into Pagan marketplaces.
I mean, this was maybe twenty-five years ago, but that was the gist of the message that God was telling my “spirit.”
And so, of course, I wrote about it on my website, and as had been my habit ever since I began sharing those things which God places on my heart, I was completely ignored.
Nonetheless, at the time, I was traveling the country obeying God and visiting all aspects of these so-called, Revival Centers, or Ministries, or Mega Churches, or Streams, and I found this to be the case all over America.
This is why you can walk into almost any American church and it is , “Tithe please, thank you, ma’am, we will begin with some good old feeling worship, then “offering time,” then a little Pastor adulation, then a message that my Cocker Spaniel gleaned from the Pastors homework before he ate it and shred the document?
Lastly, they might serve the Lord’s supper or just give you the “Benediction,” depending on how far away the Family Buffet is?
But, however, they do it, in most cases, you will walk away entertained and not be prayer conscious of crying at an altar for those lost souls in our pulpits!
It truly is a sad state for the church of Jesus to thrive amidst.
I am sorry, but I get off on those rabbit trails.
As I stated above, let me share share a secret with you all that the Holy Spirit taught me through years of following him and in deep pursuit of his wisdom?
"You know, all of these buildings in the works, as those pastors are awaiting the millions of dollars which they have "prophesied," will come in by the naive people, those ones who will claim that God told them that the money needs to come in within two or four years?"
Yes, those ones, well can I tell you that most likely they lied to you. You see, that building is going to be there tomorrow, and it will be there in ten years, and had the Pastor not been caught up in some major "Sin," most likely it will be there in twenty years, as well.
So what I am saying is that there is a ministry who are trying to bring in souls with broken lives to be repaired. Individuals with broken families where the mother is praying for her husband to become a decent working man again in order to take care of his family as he once did.
There are Grandma's and mother's whose only wish for this life is to see their daughters to become a decent member of society once again.
There are brothers who may have even been responsible for the deviant way of life their brothers followed through a life of addictions, and all they want is to see them whole again.
In other words, there are a million different stories in America, but could I tell you the most common from the pulpits?
It is this:
"Hey, we just made the first payment on our ten-million-dollar property, the cement has been poured, and as soon as we take care of that next payment of twelve million, we can lay the floor of the gymnasium, this is why I have designated next Sunday, "Courtyard Sunday," if all goes as well, as I suspect, we can begin work on the Glass Offering and Counting Rooms, directly in front of my office, although, we aren't really going to use glass for all four walls, only for the wall which looks directly into my office.
So, anyway this was the wisdom that the Holy Spirit gave me, He said, " Do you know those buildings are going to stand for the next fifty years whether they are used or not, so what is the hurry in which all of these Pastors wish them to be built tomorrow?
You see, traditionally, in America, a congregation would form birthed from a Revival, and a church was built much in the way that your parents bought their homes. they used mortgages and trusted in "Faith."
Not so in America, our Preachers or so-called leaders are convinced that God needs a ten to hundred million dollar building tomorrow, in order to have choirs the size of "The Mormon Tabernacle Choir."
And they rob from what the congregations could be doing in terms of "Works," for the poor, the needy, the widow or the Orphan.
In other words, our churches in America are conditioned to believe that the only 'works," in which the church of Jesus is responsible is to put your preachers up in million-dollar homes and to spend tens of millions of dollars on brick and mortar.
I am going to post this link again, but I wouldn’t feel bad if there was someone who God is talking through by this message, who could easily bless this ministry with ten thousand dollars or even one hundred thousand dollars.
And I am not talking about one individual. Last week, I believed that there were a few of you who actually were spared from a life of Eternity and Damnation by your repentance.
The gospel is nothing to take lightly. And the quickest way to get a “crash course” on it is to take the road which Ananias and Saphira took in the Early Church.
