You know today I visited several church services, and I was very blessed to have visited a few in particular. One of those was the Columbus Vineyard, as they had announced that their church had donated fifty thousand dollars to the “Convoy of Hope,” disaster recovery ministry which is helping the victims of the Texas Floods.

Doesn’t that make you feel good when you see a part of God’s church actually doing what is so biblical and New Testament with their offerings?

Well, it makes me feel “wonderful.”

What a unique concept!

If only we could get some of these other “Men of God,” from the pulpits to read their Bible’s as well.

Who knows, God might even look down upon the American church with a little bit of favor for a change.

I was also “blessed,” for the second week in a row where I heard a sermon from a church in Australia. I know that it is a shame and that perhaps I shouldn’t be speaking so negatively concerning our “Preachers,” but I have almost come to the point where I have been wondering if our Bible Schools and Seminaries still teach on the subject.

I thank God that there are still a “few good preachers,” out there, but it saddens me all the more.

Well, this is why I sometimes have to go clear across the world to get “fed” a decent meal on Sundays.

Nevertheless, although the American churches mostly put out a good Beef Wellington, I think it's the mushrooms that I am not so confident about?

Is there anybody who can relate to what I am talking about?

Anyway, these two posted sermons are from a little church somewhere in a little town in Australia and to my surprise they were preached from an “Anglican Church.”

I mean, if I really wanted to get in someone’s business, I would point out that they are not Pentecostal or American Charismatic.

Thank God for the little things, as well!

A sad announcement:

You know, I woke up today to hear the sad news concerning Pastor John F. MacArthur, an American minister. I recall living in the Dallas area for over seventeen years off and on and during those many years, I became familiar with so many Radio preachers. John was always a prominent preacher on the Baptist station, as I recall.

I really did, I think that I wore an ear piece through that entire episode of my life, listening to hundreds of preachers.

I always thought of him as a very intelligent “book,” theologian. Unfortunately, it was hard to listen to him for where I was “spiritually.”

You see, John seemed to despise the giftings and the callings of the Holy Spirit when it came to the ‘supernatural.’

Recently, I heard a few preachers opinionating on the ‘spiritual giftings,’ concerning the ‘gifts’ spoken about in Corinthians on the internet.

One preacher made a statement such as, “Well, we all have a gift, God has given us all a gift.”

Then he went on to explain how that the “Gifts,” the apostle Paul talked about in the letters to the Corinthians were likened to a gift such as being ‘welcoming’ as a door greeter or usher in a church. Or perhaps having a ‘gift’ to direct congregants in a church, as to where to park.

Or maybe, you had a gift to be ‘kind to an unfortunately crippled individual.’ Or perhaps a “gift” to be generous. This is one of the favorites that is always mentioned.

And so, I woke up the next morning and there is this guy on a “You Tube,” short clip, with a quote concerning his magnificent ‘spiritual and theological,’ revelation on the ‘word of God.’

Well, that morning, I just had to laugh, because it was as if the ‘church’ was just dumbfounded at the wisdom of this individual who could make such a ‘bold and accurate,’ theological statement.

I could almost hear the congregants ‘swooning,’ at such profound wisdom.

Well, you see, the truth is that I have been hearing now for well over forty years this same revelation from countless Bible studies, congregants, ignorant preachers, denominations, idiots and the list just continues to grow exponentially.

Normally, it is always mentioned by those who oppose the Charisma gifts of the church.

Yes, we all have such gifts if we choose to ‘will,’ our lives to do good to our brothers and sisters, both in the church and out. Nonetheless, these are not the “giftings,” in which the apostle Paul is addressing in the Early Church. No, he is talking about spiritual “giftings,” endued and apportioned by God to those who ought to be mature and responsible in the “body of Christ,” who should use those ‘giftings’ for the benefit of others.

He is not talking about administrational gifts, though he could be for some ‘leader,’ who chooses to use them for God’s glory.

He is not talking about an individual who is kind and uplifting to others in the “body of Christ.”

That type of ‘gifting’ should come out of “the fruit of the Holy Spirit,” by obeying the commandments and loving God and your neighbor.

What?

Do we need a ‘gift,’ now to love your neighbor, as you feel you ought to be loved?

You see, I believe that the reason why Paul is so concerned about the proper use of ‘spiritual gifts,’ is because these are the things that can help us win lost humanity to God.

He is talking about ‘gifts,’ endued with power, and coming from heaven.

In one scripture or statement, he talks about the proper use of “prophecy.” Then he makes a profound statement, such as “If an unbeliever happens to be in the house, and hears a word of prophecy, won’t he then fall on his face and …”

Taken from Google Ai:

AI Overview

The scripture that describes an unbeliever falling on their face after hearing a word of prophecy is 1 Corinthians 14:25. It states that when an unbeliever hears prophecy, the secrets of their heart are revealed, and they will fall on their face, worship God, and declare that God is truly among them…”

1 Corinthians 14:24-25 New Living Translation

24 But if all of you are prophesying, and unbelievers or people who don’t understand these things come into your meeting, they will be convicted of sin and judged by what you say. 25 As they listen, their secret thoughts will be exposed, and they will fall to their knees and worship God, declaring, “God is truly here among you.”

Please notice that the scriptures don’t say, “after you show them where to park their car or greet them affectionately at the door, they will fall on their face and give their life to foreign missions, or to their savior.”

You know, I just wanted to note that.

Anyway, I am sure that Mr. MacArthur will be sorely missed, but I just wish that he along with many others in the “American Church,” didn’t despise the “giftings,” of the Holy Spirit as so many do and have been so led astray or confused as to their purposes.

Nonetheless, I am truly saddened by the loss of a great “influencer,” among the American church.

You see, he had so many disciples and followers, and now, as before they will be as “sheep with no shepherd.”

Postscript:

I am sorry if this posting seems excessively sharp against an individual who has served the Lord for those many years, whatever the number. Nonetheless, I have heard this man for over thirty years, preach harshly against the “Gift of tongues,” or what is considered by numerous Christians as “the Prayer language.” AKA "The Holy Spirit."

Should all of a sudden this fact become forgotten because of the man’s passing?

I think not.

In my writing above I wrote that “a Christian ought to treat your brother or sister, as ‘You would want to be treated.”

Well, upon my death I would welcome any one to correct any errors of what I had been ‘preaching,’ so that I would not be accountable for the many lives who I had falsely mislead over the years.

You see, this is love, not that you gave me a “Rosy,” funeral, but that you helped deliver any who I had caused to be bound by false error.

This was a preacher who turned away millions from receiving a further strengthening and relationship with our Holy God that would have benefitted many for their entire lives.

And I am sure that John would feel the same.

You see, he was such a stickler for preaching the ‘truth,” or so he said.
