I am sorry, but I just can't get enough of this gentleman Preacher. This is probably going to shock a number of people, but I have never in my life heard this man preach a sermon until two nights ago. You see, I had barely heard of the man except through his reputation, but I had never heard a sermon preached from the guy.
One of the reasons probably was that he was very close to David Wilkerson, I had known about David Wilkerson through his encounters in New York while ministering to the gangs there, as I had read and was impacted by his book, "The Cross and the Switchblade."
Nevertheless, I thought of Wilkerson as a type of "legalistic," old Pentecostal who apparently refused to conform to modern Charismatic type churches. You see, during those years, the churches that were "trending," were the "Prosperity," churches, and then the various offshoots of them which would incorporate the "constant practices," in which those churches helped establish and would be "the new norm," for the modern American church.
These practices, of course, were the "fifty to one hundred new ways," of manipulating the congregations into making those churches into huge businesses rather than churches. Out of those 'newer' doctrines, Preachers could travel the globe "From going to and fro on the earth,.."
Generally in million dollar Private Jets. It was a new concept, but it caught on quick. Soon, every Preacher, it seemed wanted to spend their days like their brethren, 'from going to and fro on the earth, in their own plane too.
So, you know, when you hear an old Pentecostal preacher criticize the new super trending "Charismatic Stream," you sort of had to side with the 'trending preachers,' lest you be thought of as 'not cool.'
I remember particularly that he was quite upset with the "Laughing Revival," when they held a crusade in New York, and at the time, I couldn't understand it.
Today, I do.
Nonetheless, then one day, years later, you wake up and you realize that that ol legalistic Pentecostal preacher had some good insights, all along.
I mean, when you looked at the "Body of Christ," and all that you saw were just greed and covetousness filing the churches, with hundreds of thousands or millions of others who felt as if the church had betrayed them or turned their back on them all for the "glory" of just a few individual super star preachers, well, then you are forced to re-think your earlier theology.
Years later, when you realize that all those old trending Charismatic Churches had absolutely no works, other than prospering the selfishness of the Clergy...well, It makes you reconsider your earlier assumptions.
Who knows, could I have been wrong all that time?
NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!
Of course not, I am never wrong!
Can anyone relate to that?
So, anyway that was the reason why I had never heard Leonard Ravenhill preach. I was too involved in the Tulsa "stream," of Preachers and then was caught up in the "Prophetic Stream," of the Charismatic Church, as well, running around the country checking out many other spiritual phenomenon or supposed revivals. And just surviving as best I knew how trying to obey God and living determinedly through "Faith."
AI Overview
Leonard Ravenhill's ministry and school were located in both England and the United States, with significant periods in each country. He received his formal training at Cliff College in England and conducted extensive evangelistic ministry there for many years. In his later years, his ministry was based in Lindale, Texas, where he hosted a prominent prayer meeting that drew followers from across the country, notes WesleyGospel Ministries and this YouTube video.
Cliff College, England: This is where Ravenhill received his formal training for the ministry.
He was ordained as a Methodist preacher and spent decades conducting evangelistic work and planting churches in England.
Lindale, Texas, USA: In 1979, Ravenhill moved to Lindale, Texas, where he lived with his wife, Martha.
His ministry in Texas was characterized by a vibrant weekly prayer meeting held at a friend's home, which became a central hub for his ministry, influenced many, and drew attendees from distant states, notes this YouTube video and SWARK Today.
This period saw him write many of his well-known books on prayer, revival, and holiness, says this YouTube video.
Nevertheless, instead of going through a whole night of writing, I am just going to leave it as it is. You see, earlier, I wrote the above and intended to finish it later, but I just realized that I made my point.
My point is that after listening to this man's few sermons the last couple of days, I have been taken spiritually to a new place in the heavenlies.
Can anyone relate?
This man has a whole lot of wisdom for this future army of warriors in which God is no doubt getting ready to release on the Earth.
Won't you seriously give your life to Christ?
No, no, not in that same old, same old way which has been preached by the masses for their Glory, but in the way that Reverend Ravenhill is talking about, all for the "GLORY," of God.
I do not "Puff Up," anyone, unless I truly believe in their wisdom and gifting, as coming from heaven.
I am telling you that if you wish to grow in maturity in Christ, then this is a man you ought to be learning from.

Added Saturday afternoon:
Whatever happened to the "good life," I used to experience in the church?
Brings back such wonderful memories...the church in which I grew up in for maybe twenty years.
Oh no, I am not talking about one church, I am talking about many, many, many, etc. etc. etc...and you wonder why I am like I am today!

You see, this was like 'normal,' Christianity in the church. While I was considered "Anathema," because I would like preach against such practices and churches.
Can somebody explain how that works?
I'm still a little confused...

Earlier today, a "You Tube," clip popped up on the daily page that I pulled up. Well, I seldom follow these clips of former preachers who have been involved in scandals, but I felt strongly as if the Lord wanted me to post it after I read it.
I mean, I don't even know why I listened to it, other than I was moved to do so?
Later though, I visited a Mega Church and felt as if the guest speaker was perhaps "scolding," me for spreading gossip.
Well, let me say that in no way was that my intention.
Allow me to explain.
If my intent was to do harm to either individual spoken about I would probably have gone after a completely different person. Maybe the former leader of the mega Church in which this "Righteous lady," was speaking from.
Trust me his crimes were much more serious than Tilton's in the overall scheme of things.
Nonetheless, the last thing that is ever on my mind is to expose leaders unless there is a very strong inkling from the "Holy Spirit" to do so.
You see, my intent in posting the clip was not to bring to light again the particular crimes of any individuals, but to expose the fact that what the clip was very plainly stating was that "here you had one of the top televangelists in the country at the time, and his ministry was taking in hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars."
Then it clearly alleged that the man had no financial Board, no legal auditors who had authority to control the finances, but instead this was a man who had free access and according to testimony of his wives and witnesses could and would spend millions of dollars on whatever excesses he felt like.
I believe that they mentioned that the money went to Yachts, Mansions, Private Jets, Luxury cars, Five Star hotels in NYC, Paris or 'where so ever he put his feet,' and like many other similar Evangelists, thought it justified because he remembered part of a scripture that said, "I have given you the land, so that where ever you put your feet...
This isn't funny, but the majority of these blind disciples of such men thought it completely justified.
Why John?
I believe that it gave them the right, or so they thought to live the same kind of selfish lives.
How do you know that John?
Well, let me count the "works," that these churches had. One, two,....three.....Okay Done.
And I am going to tell you just as Obama announced when he was elected president, hundreds and thousands of these men over the years, stated, "We are going to transform the church, " and they did like Obama transformed the country.
Could I tell you about the time when America first began to be truly transformed into a godless country where morals and ethics became lost?
Someday, I might reveal that particular period. Nonetheless, it was the church who first threw away the baby with the bathwater, not the left.
The Left just followed as if "since they saw the preachers living moral and ethical-less lives decided that they would to?"
Let me also say that as I watched the demolition of the churches righteousness become eroded day by day, God had brought me into a Church/Cult where I saw these things firsthand.
I saw good men and women who had come excited and on-fire for God, but as they sat under this particular leader and his henchmen, soon they were transformed in what I could only define as "Cult Members," only worshiping their own self interests.
And then once they had proselytized these youth and brought them to that land, a few years later, they would send them out to assimilate back into the other "Worship led," churches around the country.
Many who had abandoned all morals and ethics, all so they could fulfill their individual agendas.
Thus, America is filled with humongous churches where the individuals are lost, yet so long as they "Tithe," and support our entertainment industry then all things are fine and dandy in the churches.
And lastly, I want every person to understand that I write as I write because I have lived through decades observing the churches and could I tell you one of my most scariest observations over all of that time?
I have seen it over and over and over again.
But it is the fact, that there has never been a generation of church leaders who have been honest with "History."
You see, what the church does time and time again is that they bury all of these failures under the rug, or they are swept down a sewer, but none are ever recorded, that those mistakes won't be made again and they will have learned through past mistakes.
Did you know that that is what defines insanity?
Well, welcome to our insane leaders of the past four generations who all bury their "sins," so that their children can go ahead and make the same mistakes and errors again.
No, what they like to do, who ever the case is, to present to the "world," how successful that their "Streams" were.
Or their "Movement," was.
Or how wonderful their "Denomination" has been.
Just the other day, I was bragging on how that I attended a Bible School college, and sat under a preacher who ended up becoming an eight year long Superintendent of the Assemblies of God denomination.
A week, later it is all over "You Tube," where the denomination has been alleged to have harbored for years particular "Pedophile Pastors."
Well, this was the reason why I told God a long time ago, "God I am not going to be like all of these other members of the Clergy, that bury all things under the rugs, so the same mistakes are committed in every generation, but I am going to expose them in order for the church to move on and not have to constantly repeat "Nursery School."
And you see, this is why God allowed that clip to be shown to me, that I could publish it today.
Nevertheless, no longer than I published it and I had the same response from a typical Clergy member from the previous decades try to scold me, as I have been scolded all my life from those "Clergy," who like to keep 'things,' hidden away.
You see, I had just published an article previous to her "scolding," on the errors of many Mega Churches.
Nonetheless, afterward, I thought, "Exactly who is this woman?"
Well, I Google her and find that she is a 'talking head,' in the church who travels from one ministry to another "sharing," her perceptions of theology or humor or what's trending?
In other words, "the woman is just one of many entertainers who goes from church to church in order to eke out her career."
You know, they write books or tell funny stories?
Or perhaps, eke out a living by Social Media insights.
And I don't mean to criticize her "ministry."
Yet, I can't find a similar 'office,' in the Bible?
Well, I am sorry, but what I am trying to say is that, "when is the church in America going to grow up?
Do we really need hundreds of thousands of "Entertainers," as if it is part of the Six Fold Ministry?
Recently, I have been listening to a Preacher named Leonard Ravenhill....
Well, I am going to end here, but my point in posting that clip concerning Robert Tilton was not to condemn the man for "sins," committed over ten years ago, but to show that for years, this was the normal life styles and ministries of many "wicked men," of the past generations who called themselves "Shepherds."
I would have hoped that both Tilton and his former wife have repented and most likely that is the case.
Nonetheless, I am not going to bury the facts concerning how all of these men and women abused the "Ministry," lest I thought of being a tattletale or gossiper.
No, I am going to show this next generation how easy it is to be completely deceived by the "Prince of the Power of the Air," aka Satan.
You see, this became almost the norm in the church.
They had no accountability and flitted away billions of dollars, that all could have gone to build water wells in the deserts of Africa, orphanages around the world, they could have helped our homeless Veterans who gave their lives or parts of their bodies for our freedom to protest or to even help get communists elected Mayors.
Not hat it was the Veterans, but some other real "nutcases."
I mean, these Preachers couldn't even give "Bread," to the hungry.
I have been in some of their congregations and they had instructed congregations to not give a cent to anyone who looks as if they were in need, so long as they were on the street.
Then they would say, "We need to teach them how to fish, so they will always have food before them, right?"
Well, if you were in one of those meetings could I ask you, "How many did you teach to fish?"
Or how about, "How many times did you see one of those teachers step out of his Rolls Royce in order to instruct a skeletal man how to throw out the line?"
Seriously, and there were hundreds of millions who all approved of their lives and expenditures.
Well, one day, Jesus might ask you something like, "Why did you let those men take from my innocent ones and to flutter away those billions of dollars on their pleasures?
Surely, you knew that what they were doing was wrong didn't you?"
"Oh no, God, I just thought they were "Holy Men," doing what you had told them to do."
And the Lord will probably answer, "So that is what you have imagined me to be your entire life, is it?"
Luke 13:28 New Living Translation
28 "There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, for you will see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God, but you will be thrown out.
Lastly, let me say that many of these men are going to say, "Hey, I always had "Board Members," and financial credibility.
No, that was a lie, many had relatives, cronies and fellow henchmen sitting on their Boards, don't be fooled.
Not all, but enough!
Added thoughts: The other point that I believe God wishes for me to express is that the next Great Awakening or for Revival to come to America is not going to be through the 'entertainers,' out of the mega churches, but it will be birthed out of a church defined by deep Prayer, as suggested by this 'man of God,' Ravenhill.
Thankfully, some wise individual recently decided to loose a number of his sermons on "You Tube," and I am eternally grateful. This is what the church has needed for decades and decades.
And lest I forget, I was only having fun with the Board of Directors last week which made up the church of that New York Pastor at City Church.
It seemed as if all of those men and women were very accomplished in their own right.
Thank God, for all of those humble and generous "Board Members," in which God sometimes elects into office. Not those chosen by the insatiable and greedy Clergy in which the church is many times cursed with.
